There Is Always Sky

Whether it be clear or cloudy, whenever I gaze skyward I am comforted. Even on the grayest of days, I still know the sky above is blue. Just as if I am in an airplane flying high above the clouds into this endless indigo surrounding our planet. Wherever I am …whatever city, whatever country, whatever continent, if I am with others or alone, I am never far from you ...for there is always sky.

Uphill

Once I make it up the hill to reach my home
I will know in my heart that I have reached my destination.

Confronting Fear, Accepting Light

Confronting fear
Accepting light
Acknowledging that the light of g-d is within us is enlightening, yet may also be frightening because in this acceptance we can see ourselves more clearly as a spiritual being and our body as a shell. Life and death are together as one. Faith gives us strength and courage moment by moment. But acknowledgment of g-d as our guide in darkness as well as light awakens us.

Light

A place where light dances upon the waters
A place where light dances upon my soul
A turquoise ocean with tropical currents
I am bathed in the ocean’s warmth
I sit upon golden sands and gaze upon the cresting waters
Each tiny moment kissed by sunlight

Noor-UI-Iman, Ancestors

Drawn by student in Noor-Ul-Iman School at the Islamic Society of Central Jersey

Within the birth of each child, the souls of our ancestors are rekindled.
In this innocence and simplicity we can see we are not separate,
we are one.

Oh What Joy

I was met by my white dove guide. We flew together to his favorite spot on a tall treetop. As we watched children play below---my children, my nieces and nephews. We perched and watched. Breezes of peace and calm joined us. We felt joy in the air. After my meditation I suggested that our families make a fire pit in my sister, Judy’s backyard then toast marshmallows, play instruments and sing this evening; and we did!
