This year I have been devoting myself to learning, visiting many yoga centers around the Princeton area.
I woke up early this morning and decided to explore yet another yoga studio, Simply Yoga.
Saturday, 9am class with David T. was harmonious from the opening Aum (also ohm, a sound which represents the union of mind, body, spirit and universal oneness) in which I experienced a unique sense of unity, to the shavasana (lying with back flat on the ground giving the body a chance to regroup and reset itself) at the end of the class.
David introduced me to his wife who also teaches at Simply Yoga.
After experiencing David’s Iyengar class (in which props are used to emphasize precision and alignment for every posture) I would welcome being part of her class as well.
During shavasana I visualize myself holding a bouquet of flowers ,as they were actually blooming, ready to share their joyous state with all.
Flowers laughing,
flowers singing
and some just smiling and looking pretty…
that was a wonderful way to start my day.
Later, in my personal meditation…
Lilacs were blooming that very moment
sharing their
intoxicating yet subtle aroma
with all that came in their path
Oh sweet and gentle flowers
I give thanks for these lilacs within this meditation
I give thanks for you my reader
I give thanks to all
May we always feel
our own personal bloom
facing the sun on a harmonious summer’s day
May we all experience
our own individual beauty through all of senses as we
see
touch
hear
smell
and even taste
Let’s take a moment
to share our beauty
with one another
today
