Today I meditate sitting on my multicolored Indian blanket on the floor next to you
You rocked me when I held my first child in the nursery as I sang sweet songs that warmed our hearts
I was cradled in love
I sat upon you rocking my second child
One child at my side and one in my lap
Oh joy
Oh joy
Oh joy
My chair was full
Then you stayed in the hall empty until one day I took you into my room.
I would write
read
and watch the TV
On a rare day I would rock my grown daughters upon my lap
Now, I sit on the floor meditating and writing about you.
You are empty but my heart it sways when I look upon you
