Paths

The day I start infringing my spirituality on others
is the day I lose sight of my own
We all have our individually chosen paths
Sometimes it intersects with someone else’s
Sometimes it mergers
Sometimes it appears to emerge out of nowhere
Sometimes it appears invisible
But one thing, yes one thing is always comforting
It is always guiding my way

Spirit Dance

In my meditation I can see my spirit dance.
The angels played violins and harps as I twirled.
I can hear the rain dancing upon the pond like the pitter patter of baby feet.

The Path

Remember a path is always right in front of you.
Let it illuminate
so you can clearly follow it and
g-d will be
your guide.

First Flower of Spring

Let it welcome the others

No Camera

It’s so wonderful to be back, like seeing an old friend again.
The wild grass has been cut back.
The goslings are becoming geese.
The spring opens its arms to greet me.
I wish I had my camera…

Beautiful Morning

Complete and total relaxation

I spy the reflection of a crow flying on the calm, crystal waters.
A tadpole jumps and ripples permeate.
The budding trees fill the forest once again.
What a beautiful morn.

Taking Stock

Taking stock
I have come here often
You, my earth changes
reflecting each season

Summer
lush and green

Fall
crisp

Winter
frozen and still

Spring
budding and buggy

Find the peace in each day

Infinity

I am part of this earth…
In life may I speak passionately
If I live long, may I speak often
But when I die, may I speak forever

Earth's Throne

Photograph by Rebecca

This morn I sit on my dirt throne on high.
Oh, how the weeds have grown. A budding flower to my left awaits its bloom, a seasoned beetle-eaten leaf is to my right
and below me is my mosaic of meditations journal.
Oh, small and gentle flower how you are woven into my tapestry.
Oh feather, oh feather from up high, your soft angelic presence rekindles my spirit.
Absolute joy, rejuvenation and peace take harbor here.

Gray Clouds

Sometimes it takes many gray clouds to cover the sun
In order to see the brilliance of  a single ray

This Moment

I stand within this moment…
In the light of absolute love
In the light of absolute peace
May memory of this moment last an eternity

Serenity

It can’t be taken away from me, the serenity of this moment on this nineteenth day of May.
I am so grateful for…
the gentle setting sun and how it illuminates the pond,
this magnificent water, the soft mirror to the wild forest, and how it breathes peace into my very soul,
a living Van Gogh work-of-art dressed in untamed wilderness—wild berry blossoms, trees bursting in every shade of green as a single Canadian goose glides by.
No matter where I go from this moment on or where I was before, it is mine and for this I am eternally grateful.

Our Planet

We have made this planet our slave
It is time to unshackle her
free her
respect her and
work together

Waterfall Meditation

Meditation
Open the door.
There is a stone path under my feet.
I do not hear it as I step but know it is there. My eyes are still closed.
I smell the rushing waters and pine trees.
I feel a mist on my skin and gently open my eyes. I have a woolen Indian blanket draped over my shoulders.
I follow the path to the waterfalls.
I open the blanket and lie on it with one hand in the natural pool beneath the falls.
I feel a ray of sun warming me.
I scoop up a handful of water and let it drop into my mouth…not even touching my lips--right on to my tongue. Invigorating… I swallow… rejuvenating.
I roll into the waters and float.
I feel peaceful. Breathe.
I feel loved… as well as a love for others.
My eyes are shut but I feel myself smiling.
I float and return to my spot.
I pick up a small turquoise stone put it into in my pocket as a reminder of this moment.
I give thanks from my hip to my heart to my head to my highest power and back.
While going back to my meditation door, I think of that loving, peaceful moment… knowing I now have not left it behind. It will always be with me.

Stone

An inviting day in spring
Warm sun rays brush softly against my cheek yet all I feel is winter
All is null
The gray jagged stone ices my existence
frozen out of my home
I am Numb

Weeding Thistle

There is so much one can learn from nature.  Some people are like thistle, they appear to be thorny and dangerous but when handled very carefully and gently they are able to work cooperatively with one another.  But one must remember to never hold too hard or you might get pricked.

Trying to influence them, you must work at the root where there are no thorns. Get under the stem.  Get to the underlying problem.  There is still hope, for the thorny thistle bares a wild flower and within the flower is the softest stuff nature can make---like cotton balls but even softer.

Adrift

Feeling renewal and love
For all I’ve ever loved
For all that have ever loved me
We are adrift
Shoulder to shoulder
Smile by smile
There are so many hands to hold

Sister of Mine

A defining moment…
Rachel

I saw my heart wrapped in a blue baby blanket
sitting down obediently
welcoming my sister into my open arms
gently with pride
I cradled her--- my Rachel, my Rachel

Sister of mine
I have wanted and waited and now it’s our time

Sister of mine
an angel with soft feathered wings laced in gold
a sister with such small hands, fingers and the tiniest of toes.

I behold

Sister of mine
Sister of mine

With this feeling is love
You shall always shine

You always shine.

Bathing With My Daughter

Bathing in the tub with Hannah, she requested that we use all my favorite bath products--my special shampoo and conditioner, my bath moisturizer, liquid soap. I squeezed it onto my bath sponge and lost myself in its wonderful aroma. Hannah inquired, “Mommy, what does it smell like?”
I inhaled and replied, “It smells just like the first day of spring after a long winter” and she smiled.

Pride

May the air not just be breathable but healthy
May I help it be that way

May the water not just be plentiful but clean
May I help it be that way

May the earth cradle me in her love
May I be grateful

May I be proud of who I am today
and who I aspire to be tomorrow
