Winter

I sit here basking in your warm rays 

It may be freezing outside but love is love no matter the temperature

no matter the weather 

no matter the season 

and as the earth turns I sit here and bask in your arms

Oh gift of light you anoint me with diamonds and rubies 

You crown me like a princess 

You bring me to your royal court 

Oh sky of endless blue 

and crystalline white snow beneath my feet 

I am here and you are there and together we are one

Your diamond intensity of love 

your blue skies

your endless hope and awe and 

your air maybe frigid 

but 

with this coldness you touch my cheek

you touch my bare hands 

you touch every part of my exposed skin

You touch me with cold hands reminding me of the seasons

It may be cold 

so cold 

but this gentle touch is love, pure love 

Be it hot, be it warm, be it cold 

You remind me that you are here and our love is our constant in any season

Series of Moments

Life is a series of moments 

some hard 

some easy  

some happy 

some depressed and anxious, 

Oh so anxious

This moment is trying 

oh so trying 

When I sit amongst the waters

the trees 

the grass 

the geese 

life is just a little more bearable 

Oh the dark side 

it can be so frightening 

so much to handle 

too much 

but 

When I breathe in this brisk clean air 

I know 

you are here 

and that you will never leave me behind

And the walls come tumbling down 

It’s just a free flowing thought

The wind is a howling

here I stand by your side

Today I await Spring

the buds 

the green grass 

the toad and cricket’s song

But I stand here with winter gloves waiting for the walls of winter to come tumbling down
