Garbage

Today I walk to you 

Oh there is garbage strewn all over this place 

Oh sacred place of prayer where have our melodies gone?

There is nothing but a hum inside my head

Oh reflection of our barren trees of winter 

the air whispers summer 

but it is December 

Where are the crystalline snowflakes? 

They had hid the garbage till spring 

when I would joyfully pick them up for Earth Day

A place to hopefully dance again

We live constantly surrounded by 

beauty

love and support 

So abundant is it 

that it is 

challenging 

to focus on only 

one 

Look up anytime, anywhere 

and there is always sky 

In all of its glory 

from 

The warming sun and its beautiful sunsets and sunrises 

to its twinkling stars

Just look down 

We are constantly feeling the earth’s support 

under our feet 

day and night

night and day

Each heart beat is a constant reminder 

we are alive

I can go on and on 

But this is meant for you to see 

For all of this love I am
