The Story of the Ice

Come to my crystalline waters 

One step upon me 

and 

The firm ground becomes treacherous 

Come slip and slide 

Oh what that can be dangerous

Can also be joyous 

Come skate upon me 

I have many faces 

but 

When you are here 

You can decide 

Where your stable ground lies

Cold Winds A-blowing

And the cold wind, she a-blows saying

You must stay 

You must suffer 

Yet I respond 

The joys of sunlight brings me here 

The waters, the ice, the sound of the wild geese and swaying tree tops 

whispering

Stay, please stay 

and so it goes and so I listen

I choose to feel the cold winds upon my loins and its sting upon my face 

And so it goes and so it goes

To you I come for you give me hope 

You give me a quiet peace 

a peace only nature can give 

Take me outdoors

Take me where the wind can touch my skin 

even though I am cold

but for this moment 

I am free

Everything is Going to Be Alright

As I see the sunlight dancing upon the ripples in these spring waters 

I can feel the endless baby blue sky within my soul 

and know 

everything’s going to be alright

Gazing

I gaze forward and my eyes rest upon the reflection 
of the tallest tree within my still waters… 

and so my meditation ends 

and so my meditation begins

I’ve gone on a journey into the darkness 

but after my meditation 

I am awoken 

by the light 

for this moment 

life begins 

anew
