Treasure what I’ve had 

as well as what I have now

And the leaf floated gracefully down, “Goodbye attachment" 

Must I love the entire tree 

Must I love the fall 

Must I love the withering of my spirit 

She is disastrous

leaving me numb

a zombie 

Stealing my dignity and burying me in this abyss 

Thinking the absolute worst 

to prepare me for the possibility of a hopeless future

Not just darkness 

she is disastrous 

robbing me of my spirit 

of my soul 

She is pathetic 

I now know her secret mask  

No longer must I stand by her and listen

I am not going quietly watch her steal 

my future

into a thriving garden 

providing

nourishment for our Spring
