Sister of Mine
A defining moment…
Rachel
I saw my heart wrapped in a blue baby blanket
sitting down obediently
welcoming my sister into my open arms
gently with pride
I cradled her--- my Rachel, my Rachel
Sister of mine
I have wanted and waited and now it’s our time
Sister of mine
an angel with soft feathered wings laced in gold
a sister with such small hands, fingers and the tiniest of toes.
I behold
Sister of mine

With this feeling is love

Bathing With My Daughter
Bathing in the tub with Hannah, she requested that we use all my favorite bath products--my special shampoo and conditioner, my bath moisturizer, liquid soap. I squeezed it onto my bath sponge and lost myself in its wonderful aroma. Hannah inquired, “Mommy, what does it smell like?”
I inhaled and replied, “It smells just like the first day of spring after a long winter” and she smiled.
