Thank you for the wind that blows the seed
For the soil and solid earth which catches the seed
For the sun that keeps the seed warm
For the rain that nourishes the seed
Thank you for our patience while waiting for the seed
to grow from seedling…to flower…to fruit
Thank you for the farmer who cultivates the seed
For the distributor who brings it out to market
For the market which displays it for others to buy
Thank you for our jobs
So our families are able to purchase it
Thank you for our healthy bodies so we can bring it home
Thank you for our clear minds
So we are able to prepare it, serve it and
feed it to our children
…our seeds

I was overjoyed to be asked to read this prayer for the invocation for Feasting and Fasting at the Table of Abraham, an interfaith dialogue luncheon sponsored by Fellowship In Prayer.
